Sterile Malt Extract Agar - 500ml

Liquefy by heating and pour into sterile petri dishes under sterile conditions. Jar contains 500ml of MEA, enough to fill 20 dishes.

Directions for use:

1. Place jar into pot with water up to the level of agar in jar. Do not disturb lid or ring band, make sure it is tight.
2. Bring water to a boil and heat up media till it is molten. You may need to add water if the level gets too low.
3. Under sterile conditions, preferably in front of a HEPA filtered air stream known as a flow hood (a glove box can be used) pour into sterile petri dishes, let cool and when the MEA is firm seal with parafilm or your favorite sealing film. Store in cool dark place - Preferably in a gallon zip lock bag. Jar contains 500ml of MEA. Guaranteed to be sterile and contaminate free.
